16th October 2006

Here we are again with what's new from Get Carter. Over the last few months we have played some new venues, learned some new songs and Robin has even got a new guitar.

New venue - City Gate, Dereham Road, Norwich
This is a fantastic venue and we were really looking forward to playing our first gig here. We weren't disappointed as there was a good crowd and lots of people getting down on the dance floor, which is always nice to see. Our next gig at the City Gate is on  28th January 2007 - hope to see you there!

New tunes - We've been practising real hard and come up with the following nuggets of musicalness for your listening pleasure:
Take Your Mama Out - Scissor Sisters
No Tomorrow - Orson
Dani California - Ret Hot Chili Peppers
It's My Life - No Doubt
This Love - Maroon 5
Dakota - Stereophonics

We aim to please, so let us know what you think of our latest selection and give us your suggestions for other new tunes you'd like to hear.

New guitar - Robin has a new guitar. Come to our next gig to see it in action.....

26th October 2005 - Spooky

Now the summer has gone, we had some time to update the website - it being cold and rainy out there in the 'Realworld'. We've added some new dates to the calendar for next year, so do go check them out - it's always nice to recognise a face in the crowd.
As well as the dates on the gig list, we have also booked some private parties for next year. So if anyone is interested in having Get Carter play at their birthday, wedding or Halloween party, please get in touch.

4th July 2005 - Quick update

Hi, I have just updated the Gig List page to include new dates at Optic in Norwich, and The Duke of Edinburgh in Bacton. We had an great time last time we played Optic, so please do come down and see us at one of the gigs we have there this year.
If anyone has any ideas of any other venues that we might be suited to, give us a shout (see Get in Contact) and we can get a CD in the post to them.
Hope you are all enjoying the summer!

14th April 2005 - Gig @ Optic, Norwich

Hi everyone!
We have a gig on Thursady 14th April at Optic in Norwich, it looks like being a good night, so I thought I should give you a heads-up on it.
Optic is a fairly new venue in Norwich, on Prince of Wales Road. The venue actually opens at 9.00pm on the night, so no getting there early! Entry should be free before 10.00pm (so don't be too late either), and drinks are £2 all night.
The band should be starting at about 9.30pm, and going on until about midnight, when anyone who still has some energy left can go downstairs to the nightclub.
Hope to see you there, we would appreciate your support as it will help us to get more gigs at Optic in the future.

17th February 2005 - New venues, new songs

We have just secured gigs at 3 great new venues - The Ship in Great Yarmouth (1st April), Optic in Norwich (14th April) and The Swan in Loddon (23rd April). Please come along to support us - we hope these will be the first of many gigs at these new venues. Please check out 'Get Gig List' for a full, er, Gig List.
Long winter nights are great for rehearsals and we're pleased to announce that all our hard work has resulted in some great new tunes, which you can enjoy soon at a music venue near you. New tracks include: 'Run' by Snow Patrol (Light up, Light up...), 'Maybe Tomorrow' by Stereophonics and 'Staring at the Sun' by Rooster. Have a look at 'Get Tunes' for a full list of tracks you can expect to hear at our gigs.

January 2005 - Happy New Year!! (etc)

Well, I hope everyone had a good time over the festive period. Just a quick update of the Gig List page to add all the confirmed 2005 dates so far. More should be added soon, but we hope to see you at some of the gigs in the coming year.

October 2004 - CD

Well, we finally finished the CD and it's available to buy at any of our gigs - just find and hassle a band member. £3 buys you 3 tracks, a funny plastic wallet thingie, and the undying love of the entire band (and their bank managers). If you are (understandably) not keen to approach a band member, you can drop us an email at info@lovegetcarter.com, and we can arrange to get one posted out to you.

The tracks on the CD are:

'Times Like These' by Foo Fighters
'You Oughta Know' by Alanis Morissette
'Zombie' by The Cranberries.

Anyway, hope to see you soon at one of our gigs.

2nd May 2004 - Mill Tavern Norwich

To Teresa, staff and customers of the Mill Tavern in Norwich thanks for a great night.  Hope the hangovers weren't too bad!!!   Photo's to follow!!!   Jan (Get Carter)

28th April 2004 - CD Finished

Well, the CD is finished and all ready to go. We hope to have it available for purchase at gigs and also online pretty soon. We will also be giving promotional copies of the recording to venues that are interested in booking us - so if that's you, please get in touch!
We hope to start putting more photos of gigs and other band related gubbins on the site, so if you have good pictures of a Get Carter gig or any of the band members when they were young, please get in contact. Witty captions are optional...
Oh, and while we're here, congrats to Cord for getting signed!

26th March 2004 - CD Final Mixes

The band have been in the studio recording a 3 track demo! The songs recorded are 'Times Like These' by the Foo Fighters, 'You Oughta Know' by Alanis Morissette, and 'Zombie' by The Cranberries.
The band are going back to the studio to prepare the final mixes on 30th March and the final CD should be finished and available soon afterwards.
For information on obtaining a copy of the CD contact the band on info@lovegetcarter.com

24th March 2004 - Band in New Website Shocker!
